The interpretation of beauty has varied according to philosophers and theories throughout the ages, which, in turn, was reflected on art, where the appreciation of beauty and aesthetic values and judgment on artistic work differed according to thoughts, philosophy, and culture prevailing in societies and the extent of their change and development throughout history. The research problem revolves around the possibility of enriching the ceramic surface in a contemporary way, where the research aims to reveal the concept of contemporary aesthetics and its ability to enrich ceramic surfaces, through the use of the characteristics of contemporary art, thus the researcher assumed the possibility of benefiting from those characteristics as a source for enriching aesthetic values on ceramic surfaces. The research took the descriptive, analytical and empirical approach based on two main axes: The first axis: the theoretical framework in which the researcher deals with different concepts of aesthetics among philosophers through the ages, and presents a description and analyses of some artworks that dealt with the characteristics of contemporary art. The second axis: is represented in the research experiment: (non-subjective), where it was applied on a selected sample of fine arts students at the Scientific College of Design - Sultanate of Oman. The results showed the validity of the research hypothesis, as the use of the characteristics of contemporary art has enriched the ceramic surfaces with many aesthetic values, thus realizing the concept of contemporary aesthetics, and taking advantage of them to enrich the ceramic surfaces with aesthetic values.
